Back to the roots: In future, the MCH Group’s strategy will be to focus on the organisation of fairs, events and conventions. In other words: on its mainstay business. Over the next few years, the Group is looking to invest in the continued development and improvement of existing events as well as in the development of new formats – and is currently examining various options for the Live Marketing Solutions division, including selling. “Our own fairs and the Live Marketing Solutions division are two major business areas with vast potential. We don’t have the investment funds at our disposal for both areas, however, which is why we will have to concentrate on one,” explains Ulrich Vischer, Chairman of the Board at MCH. Live events – of this the company is certain – will not be any less relevant and the different disciplines of live marketing will become more important for customer acquisition, customer care, customer involvement as well as for engaging with customers, impressing them. Art Basel, Baselworld, Swissbau, Powertage and Smart Suisse are prime examples of this. Bernd Stadlwieser, CEO of the MCH Group: “We already have a strong community for Art Basel. We are now looking at how to further strengthen this with new content. For Baselworld we are looking at expanding the branch community, which is why we are considering additional events abroad. As to the national fairs, we see them developing in the direction of leading national branch platforms, special interest events, festivals or similar new formats.”
