101 international meetings were held in Taipei City in 2019 according to the latest statistics from the International Congress and Convention Association Icca. This is a new high for the city. It raises Taipei from 6th to 5th place among Asian international meeting destinations after Singapore, Tokyo, Bangkok and Seoul. Taipei City has achieved solid results in the Icca city rankings for two consecutive years, showcasing the achievements of the Department of Information and Tourism’s (DOIT) systematic efforts to promote the city’s convention and exhibition industry.

The Taipei City Government is also developing and carrying out initiatives for MICE industry revitalization after the Covid-19 pandemic, such as: providing extra execution phase and bidding phase subsidies for MICE events, planning new revitalization subsidies such as exclusive package incentive schemes for large-scale meetings and exhibitions, providing subsidies for small and medium-sized international meeting venues and providing subsidies for cultural performances and activities for high-end incentive-travel groups.
