Shortly after proclaiming Bauma as the "largest fair of all time" in 2019, Messe München announced its "highest group sales and EBITDA of all time", indeed the best year in its history, at its annual press conference on January 14, 2020. Group sales for 2019 will likely be around EUR 480 million, EBITDA – earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization – is expected to exceed EUR 130 million. Messe München generated approximately 68 million euros abroad. Once again in 2019, the largest share of sales was generated in China, where Messe München has been active for 20 years. In India, too, events developed positively. Messe München speaks of "impressive successes". One important sales driver in 2019 on the home market were again the guest events and conferences at the Messe München locations. Klaus Dittrich, chairman and CEO of Messe München, sums up: "For Messe München, 2019 was a year of superlatives and we are very, very proud of it." The sales outlook for 2020 is slightly more modest. No figures have been quoted by the board.
