The latest addition to the VIPARIS venue Paris Expo Porte de Versailles was inaugurated on November 20, 2019. Pavilion 6 offers 15.000 m2 of exhibition space 9 m in height, four convertible meeting rooms and three restaurants, all with a panoramic rooftop on the 500-m2 terrace in the 15th arrondissement of the French capital. The 14.000-m2 rooftop farm is set to be the largest in the world. Pablo Nakhlé Cerruti, CEO of VIPARIS, was first up in the series of opening speeches: "We are very happy and proud to inaugurate this new hall. Welcome to all of you to this new pavilion". Jean-François Martins, Deputy Mayor of Paris, said: "These exhibitions and events allow us to be inspired by the best that is being done in the world, and to enrich Paris." Architect Jean Nouvel's plan for Pavilion 6 involves a lightweight roof from which hang a large number of illuminated banners of various sizes and colours, displaying messages connected to upcoming events. As the start of an event approaches, the façade gradually lowers until it is fully extended and emits beams of coloured light. Like a countdown, this sequence is finally completed on the opening day. A few days before the end of the event, the reverse movement begins. The new quarter includes a total of 1,500 parking lots and new hotels.
