Even before 5G is introduced across Germany, visitors to Digital X 2019, Deutsche Telekom's digital conference (October 29 and 30, 2019), were able to try out the new cellular network technology at the Cologne trade fair venue. To make this possible, Hall 8 was equipped with 5G. Kölnmesse's managers are planning to provide full coverage across the exhibition site from 2020 through the public 5G frequencies. The additional installation of a so-called campus network, which will make it possible for exhibitors to use the technology at their exhibition stands, is currently being assessed by Kölnmesse.
